Update List of statuses and hide some while a project is ongoing

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could guide me through the best way to update a list of available statuses on an ongoing project.
I would like to add some more options and hide others that will be redundant or are rarely used.
The project is already ongoing so I am a bit concerned about the effect these changes might have on the work already ingested and worked on.
The changes will be specific and applied on all 3 levels> task, version and shot.

Thanks a lot!

You can hide statusses on a project from the Project Tracking page.
Statusses that are hidden should no longer be visible to select in the dropdown.
I believe existing record with the hidden status remain like they are.

if not, the UI will tell you.

HI @Brickie,

First you will want to add the new statuses to each entity (task, version shot). They will need to be done one at a time.
You have two options when it comes to removing statuses.

  1. Delete the status from the list on a given entity (ie: task). This will delete it on all projects in the database and leave the field blank on any tasks that were using it. I don’t recommend this for obvious reasons.
  2. Hide the statuses from within the project. When you edit the status options, you will see an eye icon. You can click this to hide it on the project you are editing within. If you do this, any task using that status will still have it but when you select the status list, you will no longer see it as an option. I recommend this.

Once you have added and hidden the status you want on each entity, you will need to audit the project for tasks, versions, shots using the statuses that are hidden and adjust them to the ones you want to be used
