SG Overview page layout

Hello,

If someone setup a page layout that is undesired for an Overview page, and saved their changes, is there a way to roll it back to the default layout of how SG ships, out of the box, for a specific Project while leaving the others unchanged?

Hi @mharris

Thanks for posting this here. So there are 2 types of Overview pages here, firstly the one that Shotgun labels the Overview Page which contains a stream of activity for the project.

This page’s layout cannot be modified, however the page itself can be remove or re-arranged in your project navigation bar.

However, Im assuming you are referring to a regular page that is being used as dashboard / overview for that project. In that case, there is no way to revert a page to previous saved states in past, you can only revert it to its last saved state.

If the page you are using is an entity landing page (one that you can access from your projects navigation bar), then unfortunately you would need to re-create that layout.

Having said that, if the page you are using is a custom page and it exists in another project, you use the following steps to copy the page into your current project

  • Navigate to page in another project

  • Use the Save page as option

  • It should autofil the project field, but you’ll want to change that to your current project
    Tasks___Demo__Animation_with_Cuts

  • Then, once you are done, you can pin that page to your projects navigation bar
    Production_Dashboard___Demo__Animation_with_Cuts

Finally, you can utilise the Project Configuration option, however this pushed the layout of the entire project from one to another, so in your specific case may not be too useful but just putting it here incase it may be required for other projects.

If you have any further questions don’t hesitate to give us a shout.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi @andrew.lawrence, thanks for chiming in. It turns out that someone made a new page layout and named it Overview - PROD which created two pages with the same name. The activity stream is the one I am more used to and just needed to select the second one in the list.
