Setup read replica of SG for fast, optimized queries

Dear Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to inquire about the feasibility and process for establishing a read replica of our ShotGrid database. This replica would primarily serve to enhance the performance of applications such as browsers and analytics tools.

Currently, our SG database is hosted on Autodesk servers. Given this configuration, I am interested in understanding whether it is possible to implement a read replica in this environment. In my previous role, we had the ShotGrid system set up on a local server, which allowed us the flexibility to easily establish a read replica, complemented by Memcached, to optimize read operations and application performance.

One solution I am considering is using SG Events to write all publish events to a local database.

Would appreciate any insights, guidelines, or suggestions, particularly in the context of a cloud-hosted database scenario.

Best regards,
Harsh
