Is there an easy way to connect an S3 mounted drive (via MountainDuck) filesystem to shotgrid?

Looking for a way to link the files in our S3 bucket to shotgrid.
Ideally we want the employees to be able to click on an asset/background/prop within shotgrid
and have that open the folder on the Mounted S3 drive for them so they can work from within the folder. Is this possible?

Notes:
“Site Preferences > File Management > Linking to local files” using a pathway looks like a really good way to do this but different users seem to have slightly different pathways to the mountainduck so im not sure where to go from there.

Possibly something to do with Filesystem Locations? any help would be appreciated!

Thank you,
Keanu

For this to work you need to ensure everyone mounts the storage in the same way.

So on Windows everyone needs to mount the same root point to the same drive letter, and on Mac everyone needs to mount the storage to the same folder structure (i.e. /Volumes/MountainDuck).

If you have issues with this on Mac you’ll need to look into creating aliases or do some mounting magic using a shell script.

Alternatively you could look at a product like LucidLink.
