hello. I would like to change the status of a specific task of a shot in shotgrid, but it does not work, so I would like to inquire. We are in dire need of help.
If you look at the image, the ANM tasks in the shot pipeline are divided into four types.
(ANM_layout, ANM_block, ANM_polish, ANM_fix)
After selecting multiple shots, I would like to change the status of a specific task by selecting Edit selected.
So, I made the changes as follows.
After selecting ANM pipeline in the status of Edit selected,
I changed the status of the ANM pipeline to approved, entered ANM_layout in the task, and pressed save.
However, not only the task in ANM_layout is changed to approved.
The name of all tasks in the ANM pipeline of multiple shots is changed to ANM_layout.
All statuses change to approved.
What you are doing is telling FPTR to rename all of the anim tasks and change their status, as you noted.
My suggestion is to use a task page instead of a shot page. There you can filter to the shots, pipeline step, tasks you want and select them all. At that point you can use the edit menu or just right-click and edit selected on the status field directly.
I’m not in from of FPTR right this second so I can’t confirm off the top of my head if there is an easy way to batch edit tasks on a shot page. So if your in a pinch, just go to the general tasks page for your project and that will work
Hi @PeteHart
Thank you for your quick response to my inquiry.
I am trying to change the status of the shot tasks at once using the method you mentioned.
But I have one more question.
This is a question that arises because I am new to using shotgrid.
We would like to check the status of the shot’s task more efficiently by adding a sequence in Fields and searching for a specific sequence name in Fillter.
However, there is a problem.
Added sequence as Multi-Entity in Manage shot Fields.
However, strangely, the name of the sequence was not linked at all and was all blank.
This is a very inconvenient situation where you have to enter a sequence name for every task template one by one to link them.
I’m not sure why this happens.
However, as mentioned above, I would like to know how to search the sequence name in Fillter.
I desperately ask for your help.
No problem, I understand the confusion around being new.
You don’t need to create a new field in order to see or filter to specific sequences. You just need to go to the fields menu the scroll down to the linked fields sections. There you should see link/shot/sequence. That will display the existing sequence that your shots are already linked to.
This will work for your filter menu as well, just scroll down the list into the “linked fields” section and it should start to make things clear.
Sorry I can’t provide images at the moment but I hope that helps
