Freeze Column in List View?

I have a master asset view that requires a bit of scrolling to see all the columns depending on your screen size, so it becomes easy to lose track of the asset when you are checking fields that require scrolling to the far right.

Is it possible to freeze the Asset Name column so that it’s always visible, similar to freezing panes in Excel?

I think I have been asking for this feature for about 10 years now. My guess is that the code that drives the tables in SG is pretty old its hard to maintain and add features like this. I wouldn’t count on this feature request till ADSK modernizes the UI component.

Hi folks. Just to update this thread: we’ve just released a pin column feature, which you can learn more about here.

OOh that is cool!

Hey @Mason some requests / bugs:

  • When pinned columns are used, the “Select All” checkbox and row checkboxes in a List View also moves off screen when scrolling to the right.
  • When Groupings and column summaries are used in a List View the summary headers disappear.
  • When Groupings and column summaries are used in a List View the group headers move off screen. This is the default behaviour when not using pinned columns, but when pinned columns are utilised it makes sense for this behaviour to also extend to these by default so you maintain the context provided by these to the pinned columns.

Got it - thanks for the feedback @Halil . We’ll let this soak on sites to see if any other issues crop up, then dive back in and polish the feature.
