I have been testing the cut entity again and was wondering if it is possible to just play the audio of the base layer across cut items without audio?
We usually don’t publish audio with our shotgun movs so when using the Cut entity the audio is always interrupted when a cut item is playing that is linked to a vfx version.
So is there a way to just use the base layer audio for the entire cut duration when playing back?
There aren’t granular audio controls with the Cut functionality like you’ve described as of yet. I’ll pass this use case along to the team overseeing the feature, though!
I have also logged a feature request on the road map page.
Unfortunately we’re not currently supporting playing back the Audio when the cut item refers to a VFX version. However we’ll make sure to consider this workflow in our future design.
One question, if the the VFX version has audio, are you expecting both the ref clip and VFX version audio to be mixed and played back?

In the case of a vfx version with audio I’d expect only the version’s audio to play, not the base layer one’s.

Last cojuple of times I tried it woudln’t play back reliably and then there was the audio issue as outlined in this thread.
I am keen to finally finish my Hiero exporter for SG Cut entities unless the cut entity is still not functional?
