CSV Import Converts Shot Codes to Dates

Our shot codes are typically hyphenated, like 010-100, or sometimes, 100-010-100. The CSV importer is automatically converting these to dates (maybe?), but not even doing this well. An example shot like 110-005-2900 is becoming 1900-01-00. Is there a way to disable this coercion or a recommended way to import these shot codes successfully? In this example it was someone attempting to create some assets from import, and have existing shots linked.
