Updating the Status of a Task when a new Version is uploaded

Hello,

The Editorial team has run into an issue and have asked for my help. They noticed that after they are done with the QC, they can set the status of QC to “Passed” or “Thumbs up” or something of this nature. However, at times someone will upload a new version of that shot and the status remains “Passed”, which can lead to misunderstandings as the editorial team has not yet seen the new version uploaded. Is there a way to update the status of this task to something else when/if a compositor uploads a new version of the shot?

I think what you are asking can be done using ShotGrid Event.
There are a lot of good documentation and examples out there. Are you familiar with how to set up a event server?

Currently I am not familiar with how to set up an event server, but is there an easier way to program this with a Python script and a Webhook instance?
