It would be really helpful to see RV support EDR display buffers for HDR display under MacOS.
Whilst the big Pro Display XDR is pretty rare, the current MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inch models with XDR are rapidly becoming the most common 1000nit capable review device in the wild.
Nuke and Nuke Studio both currently allow HDR display via EDR buffers, but don’t offer everything else that makes RV what it is.
Whilst it’s always annoying to hear from users saying “how hard can it be?”, I have seen sample code demonstrating EDR compatabilty with both QT apps, and generic OpenGL apps. So it does seem at least theoretically possible.
