Submit Annotation in RV

Hi
In shotgun web > Media, right click on a daily, then chose Open in RV, (push it to RV desktop), daily opened in RV

Then I did some annotation in VR, is there a way to submit annotation back ? Cheers

Hi Sun!

If you then use Shotgun>Browser from within :rv:, you can author a note for your annotation to be attached to. Just add your annotation in the side panel and submit and it should send it back to Shotgun.

Thank you for messaging us! Here are some screenshots in case you need a visual:

  1. Launch browser

  1. Turn on details pane:

  1. Make your annotations, then add your comment in the comment box and hit reply! Annotations will be uploaded as an attachment.

I have been trying to do this same thing but from the web browser instead. Every time I make an annotation and add a comment to it, I get the result of “uploading annotated frames” underneath the comment, however no matter how long I wait these annotations never stick and I am left just a note.

Additionally, is it not possible to remove a note after it’s been made? I only have the option to delete replies to notes made.

Did you solve this problem?

Hey folks!

This is a known issue that snuck out with our latest release, and we have escalated it and have a fix in progress. You should see that roll out in our daily release cycle very soon. Release notes for the daily updates are posted here.

You should be able to remove notes from the Notes page from your project. If you navigate to your project, go to Other (menu) -> Notes -> Right click on the note you want to delete -> Send Selected Note to Trash.

Hey,

A fix for annotations for overlay player has been deployed. Could you please let us know if it’s still not working for you?

Just wanted to update for the sake of closure.

I figured out that the issue was with the browser I was using. Annotations refused to save when using Microsoft edge (guess I should have seen that coming) and then worked immediately when switching to chrome.

I have not tried any other browsers however I did go back into edge to test the new changes and still saw the same problem.

P.s. Thanks for the tip on the notes, though I find it odd you can’t manage these from the overlay where you would edit them.
