I am trying to configure the permissions for the vendor role and I can’t find something very basic: I want these roles to only be able to see the tasks (and therefore shots) that are assigned to this user, but I cannot find this option.

Just to make sure, you only want the Vendor user to see the Tasks they are assigned to for a Shot, right? It sounds like you do not want them to see any Tasks assigned to other people assigned to a project. Is that correct?
This is already the case with Vendor Permissions.
If you assign a user with Vendor permissions to a Task on a Shot or Asset they can see that Shot/Asset but no other tasks or versions.
You can test what they can see using the menu called “User ShotGrid as…”.
I am using Shotgrid as another user with the vendor role, and I can see many shots that are not assigned to their user. How is this possible?
Did you change the default Vendor permissions?
Can you share some screenshots?
