How can I link multiple levels of shots in the details panel?

Hi all. Let’s say I have 500 shots for episode but, no matter the number of the sequence, I would like to show in the details panel inside each shot the master shots and the Key shots as well, is there a way to set up something like this? Two sections link ready so that the artist can click on the reference shot he needs, either the master or the KS, and the page opens up directly. I would use a csv to upload the information choosing the mst and the Key shots.

Hi @Alenoc,

The “Parent shots” and “Sub shots” columns that are already present on the shots entity page can be used. The sub shots column will automatically be populated when you insert the parent shot for each of the child shots.
Build a view in design page mode when you click on the link for the shot’s detail view, and then construct a link to the shot(s) from that view. As in the attached image, create a filter based on your needs. Whether they are child or master shots, the linked shots will be displayed.

Thanks,
RG.

Thanks for the reply!

I’m trying to set this interface but i think something is still missing. I have the child Shot, the master Shot and the KS. I don’t know ho to use the filter to have the master Shot and the KS of the child Shot I’m in.

Example:
AOP_101_001 is my Key shot
AOP_101_002 is my master shot
AOP_101_003 is my child sho

Atm I’m using a filter that show the parent shots and the sub shots that include the current Shot.

This works for the master Shot but it doesn’t for the child one. The filter shows only the parent (the master Shot) but note the Key Shot.

Is there anything i can do to show both?

P. S: i have different sequence so i can’t just filter the type KS, i would need something that is liked to the sequence automatically or to the Shot I’m in.

Thanks
Ale

Hi @Alenoc,

Yes we can. As an example, I’ve provided one below.
We must define the keyshots in a column. To identify the key shot regardless of its type, I created a column. After that, you can create a new view called “Key shots” and filter it to show only the key shots that relate to the sequence because the shots is already connected to it. Some screenshots are attached for your references.

Hope this finds helpful.

Thanks,
RG.

Hi again,

I can’t still figure out how to view what I’m interested to.

this is my new Related Shots page i’ve created following your instructions,

I’m in one of the child shot of sequence 001. I can see the master shot and the Key shot of the same sequence but also the Key shot of sequence 005 and I don’t want to.

I know each artist could filter himself the sequence but I would love to set the page in a way that it automatically refers to the sequence of the shot (in this case sequence 001) so the only shots showed will be the master shots and the KS of that one.

Hi,

Please try the Type filter in the first filter group, than a seperate filter group. Then it will only display the key shots related to that sequence and those shots that are tagged with.

Thanks,
RG.

Hi again.

I tried to add the type filter to the first filter Group but it doesn’t work.

I can’t figure out how to display KS and Master Shot only of the sequenze of the Shot I’m in.

Thanks,
Ale
