HIERO/NUKE

I’m new to Pipeline TD, quite inexperienced, and honestly pretty lost about what I need to do to make the workflow run properly.

I have my files in Hiero and I’m using it to export to ShotGrid.

I’m using the BASIC PTR Shot template, setting everything correctly so the folders get created properly, and I’m sticking with the default content:

  • PTR NUKE PROJECT FILE

  • NUKE WRITE NODE

  • PTR TRANSCODE IMAGE

However, inside ShotGrid (the web interface) I don’t see any link for the Compositor to open in Nuke, even after I manually generated the tasks.

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to make this work?

I swear I tried reading all the documentation, but it only confused me more. Unfortunately, I really need support explained as if you were teaching a child. lol

Hi @inconnu00

Welcome to the community.

First question, are you using a pipeline config that requires the path set up in ShotGrid or are you using the standard one that ShotGrid Desktop provides (called zero config)?

Basically, does ShotGrid desktop create folders in your project folder when you launch Nuke or Hiero? Or does it not?

First of all, thank you very much @Ricardo_Musch

I’m using the default ShotGrid configuration, with no code modifications, following the Getting Started documentation.

My issue is that I have a Hiero/Nuke Studio project.
I managed to publish the project, but when I try to export the shots (sequences), it just says the process completed successfully. However, when I check the logs in the Hiero Script Editor, it shows that I need to publish first.

How do I automate this by default?

Please forgive my lack of knowledge — I really am trying everything, reading the documentation:
Autodesk Flow Production Tracking – Learn

Thanks in advance.

Can you provide some screenshots and also confim that folders are created for your base project folders when launching Hiero or Nuke?

Can anyone help me with this? I’m using absolutely default installation, no extra configuration.

Where is your Hiero project saved?
