Enable Persistant Compare

If I enable “Compare” on a playlist, I have to re-enable it for every version in the playlist. Could this setting be persistent?

Hello Kim! Thank you for the feedback. I have added this to our list of potential improvements. At this time, compare is based on the version itself and related versions so the context may be different when changing versions in a playlist.

If you don’t mind me asking, if the compare were to persist for an entire playlist when activated on a version, what would you expect to be compared to the other versions in that playlist? The same thing that was compared to the first version or something else?

Hello!

We have the same need on our side.

We would like to be able the compare the current timeline with the Version on the same link (Asset, Shot…) matching:

  • a given Task Name
    • falling back to a list of Task names to set up by Project
  • a status (e. g. Approved or Pending Review), falling back on previous task if not found)
  • latest or penultimate matching the above criteria

I realize that using Task names is much more difficult to manage than using Pipeline Steps but as there can be several Tasks on the same Step, it’s more flexible. However, having this same system with Pipeline Steps would already be a great feature for us!
