Creative Review - Compare Wipe Feature Glitch

Hi,

Our team uses the Creative Review as the default player, and a lot of us take advantage of the WIPE feature when comparing Versions in a Shot or Asset.

One of our team members noticed an error where if you move the Wipe off-screen, there’s no way to bring it back for that Asset or Shot. Even clicking out and refreshing the page doesn’t reset it for that specific asset.

Is there a fix that I’m not aware of to reset the position of the wipe back to the center of the screen? Else its probably a bug that needs addressed at some point.

Let me know if you need any additional info, Thanks!

Hello Dan! Thank you for the report. This is something we’re aware of but haven’t had the chance to address yet. The current workaround is to zoom out to find the handle and drag it back into a position where it is usable. This is not ideal and we would like to add a hotkey or button to recenter the wipe in these cases.

Would you have any preference on how to recenter the wipe controls when we implement this?

Happy there’s at least some solution to get it back, I didn’t even consider the zoom haha.

My pref would probably map it to “R” in the same vein that it resets the zoom and pan to fit the screen as well. Having the compare functions reset to center with it feels like it’ll help a ton.

Thanks!

I’d second the idea of having a wipe position reset - but I’m not sure it should be mapped to ‘R’ if you’re just wanting to get back to normal scale view and leave the wipe in the same relative position. Perhaps just toggling compare modes would do?

On another wipe compare glitch that really needs a fix - if you’re zoomed in and move the wipe more often than not it’s resetting the image scale to fit screen. (I’m on MacOS Sequoia 15.7.4 if that has any bearing)

Additionally, I’d like to see the wipe border a bit thinner and ideally have no border or controls visible when actively moving the wipe position for an uninterrupted A/B

Lastly, and this one is not a glitch as such but a high priority feature request, when comparing two sequences that do not start on the same frame - e.g. a comp vs a version zero or plate and the comp isn’t using the full head handle but the vZero does - I need the ability to be able to slip the clips to match. Is there any way that can be achieved?

Thank you - for me the Compare Wipe has been a game-changer already
