Can Flame and Nuke coexist with different ShotGrid Toolkit setups?

The studio I’m working for has had great success implementing ShotGrid Toolkit with Nuke, but not with Flame. The studio, however, still wants to utilize both programs for their work. My question is, can Flame that is using a zero-config setup of ShotGrid Toolkit coexists in the same system as Nuke that has been customized with ShotGrid Toolkit, and if so, how does one go about making them coexist?

For instance, could ShotGrid Toolkit be used to make a VFX file coming out of Flame be immediately compatible to be used by Nuke, or vice versa.?

To be honest, my experience with ShotGrid and ShotGrid Toolkit is limited, and I may be asking this question the wrong way.
