Android app for reviewing Versions

I built an Android app for reviewing Shotgun Versions.
GunRack - [unofficial]
GunRack - Play Store

I wanted a simple way to quickly review versions on my Android phone & tablet, and a reason to learn the shotgun rest api.

Versions can be casted to Chromecast enabled devices for tv playback.
It has features for searching for Versions and adding notes/reply’s.

It is built using Google’s Dart language, and the Flutter UI framework.

Id be interested in feedback, questions and suggestions.

thanks

Hi Ralbertson,

It is very cool app! Do you only submit the cool app to google play? Is there any other android market you will support?

Thanks

And do you allow me share this app with clients in China?

Thanks

@ralbertson quite a splash with your first post to the community, awesome app!

I love the couple of quick toggles you have at the top “New” and “Review.” What sort of filters are those applying? I’m presuming “review” is everything with a Pending Review status. How is New defined?

Where do you think you’ll take it next? What sort of features do you want to add?

I noticed when creating a Note, there’s no subject yet:

One small augment you could make would be to generate a subject so it’s easier to find those Notes that came from the app.

Overall, impressive stuff. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback. I had not planned on publishing to other stores. I could possibly host it on my website for manual install. Would that work for you?

Thanks, your correct in assuming the ‘review’ button filters by ‘pending_review’. The ‘new’ button filters by the ‘viewed/unviewed’ by user.

The next feature I’m working on is being able to draw annotations and attach them to versions.
And then a sort feature for showing what’s in a specific review, and be able to play/cast them all sequenctially.

Good catch on the notes missing a subject. I’ll get that corrected.

I just got very excited when I saw this but unfortunately I get this:
“This item is not available in your country”
I’m in New Zealand, any idea why this is blocked here?

Cheers,

I’ll take a look at the play store settings. What device are you using?

I believe Shotgun has an OS app for reviews. I don’t have any Apple devices and hadn’t planned on building an OS release.

Yeah.
Dear Santa (aka @ralbertson)…

What device and Android version are you using?

Christmas came early. The app is available for download in all countries now. The issue was a default region locking. This is my first Google Play Store Publish, still learning all the steps.

Still the same for me. Maybe it needs time to propagate?!

Hi Ralbertson,

Manually install from your website would be good. This is an article we will share with China clients through WeChat.

I could add the link to the article when the link is available.

Thanks

Loney

Ah, it’s available for me now but for some reason my log in attempts fail, even though I triple checked all the credentials.

Ah, my bad, I had entered the full site url rather tan just the studio name,. working now, woopwoop!
This is awesome, where can I send thank you beers??

I’m stuck on the project page though. The apps seems to be frozen there. This is on a Galaxy S8 with Android v9

hm, and now the login fails again even though it remembered the credentials from my previous successful login.

[EDIT] I apologise, once again it was user error. My phone had done a system update and decided to reboot without wifi on. So it’s just the freezing problem on the project page for me at this stage.
