Tk-multi-breakdown2 houdini UI lockup

Hello,
I have a project using:
tk-houdini v1.9.3
tk-multi-breakdown2 v0.4.2
tk-framework-qtwidgets_v2.x.x v2.12.4
rocky linux 8.9

While using the breakdown2 panel in houdini (20.0.724, 20.5.370), we encounter a behavior where the UI in houdini locks up when an item is selected in the breakdown2 panel. Only after deselecting that item is houdini UI interaction able to resume.

Has anyone else experienced this?

We also have been getting a lockup using the breakdown in Houdini but not sure if it’s the same issue. Do you get ssl certificate errors when it tries to download the thumbnails? This is the error we are experiencing:

Error reported: <urlopen error [SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: unable to get local issuer certificate (_ssl.c:1129)>

Hi Brett,
We’ve been able to download thumbnails and I haven’t seen that particular SSL error. Unfortunately, sounds like a different issue.
Are you using tk-multi-breakdown2 v0.4.2?

Hi Jake,

I just tried v0.4.2 and I was able to reproduce your lockup issue. It does appear to lock up Houdini after clicking on an item.

On a side note, I am still getting ssl errors even with the latest version. Not sure why.

try setting the environment variable SHOTGUN_API_CACERTS and point it to the cacerts text file in the shotgun_api3 (grab the latest).

# Fixing the SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED issues with the Python API

The Python API relies on a list of certificates that is bundled with the API and on your machine in order to connect to the various webservices {% include product %} uses. Unfortunately, new certificate authorities can be released and those might not be bundled with the Python API or OS.

While our Python API comes with a very recent copy of the certificates, as of February 21st 2019, there’s a bug that prevents the API from using those certificates for Amazon S3 uploads, even if you are using the latest version of the API. For background please see [this AWS blog post](https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/security/how-to-prepare-for-aws-move-to-its-own-certificate-authority/). To remediate the situation temporarily, you can try the following solutions.

## Preferred Solution

Add the required CA certificate to the Windows Certificate Store. Windows 7 users may have to first [upgrade to PowerShell 3.0](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office365/enterprise/powershell/manage-office-365-with-office-365-powershell) in order to use this solution, or alternatively use [certutil](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/certutil) to add the [required certificate](https://www.amazontrust.com/repository/SFSRootCAG2.cer).

1. Start an elevated PowerShell by right-clicking **Start** and then left-clicking **Windows PowerShell (Admin)**

Hi Ricardo,

Unfortunately I’ve tried everything in that document and I still get the ssl errors. Strange that I’m only seeing the errors inside Houdini and not the other apps like Nuke.

Screenshot shows attempt with shotgun-api3 3.6.2 cert file.

Not sure, would be worth making a ticket to Autodesk for this.
