Question about generic lists of VFX to be reused thorugh different character assets

Hello I have a question about how you would do next.

I have a list of several characters with their own workflow wich includes all the general steps ( this is for videogames)

Then I have a list of generic VFX that can be reusables on different characters.

My first thought was to treat generic vfx as Kits and then beign able to link somehow this to each character asset that would be using this effect but I am struggleing a bit.

Any suggestions?

Have you looked at Sub Assets?
