Throwing a hail mary out to you all… I’ve never seen this before and most Google results are from over a decade ago and not helpful.
We have a couple of new users who can’t get the FPT extension to run in Photoshop. The panel displays but doesn’t load anything.
After a little while, they get this window:
- MacOS Sonoma on silicon
- Photoshop 2024 running using Rosetta
- No errors in
tk-desktop.log
- No
tk-photoshopcc.log
created
- Extension is installed (thus the window)
- Running the latest bundles from ADSK
- Works fine for existing users, just new users are hitting this.
Things I’ve tried:
- Reinstalling Photoshop
- Reinstalling the extension
- Deleting the entire
~/Library/Caches/Shotgun
folder
- Unable to reproduce the issue on my own machine running the same versions
Has anyone seen this Photoshop was unable to find the JavaScript plug-in
error before?

hello, I am currently experiencing the exact same issue with a plugin by blkmarket. I am using a macbook air m2 and currently have everything completely up to date and selected to run photoshop using Rosetta as well, not sure what to do or even where to find the third party plugin to uninstall it.
contacted adobe and even they were not sure, whole thing is driving me crazy!!
If you find a solution I’d love to hear it.
thanks,
Dan

I have the same error message with a different plugin.
M3 processor and running Photoshop with Rosetta.
It installs and runs fine on a second Mac. No clue why it is different.
Hi Dan,
I’m experiencing the same issue with the BLKMARKET plugin. It’s really frustrating! I haven’t been able to find a workaround yet, but this problem started occurring right after I upgraded to 2025. I’m using an M1 Pro.
Thanks
Frankie
Hi,
I had nearly given up after opening photoshop many times using Rosetta so my last resort was to try uninstalling photoshop then reopening it using Rosetta again through the adobe creative cloud app and it worked! Not sure if that was just a coincidence with the things I did or the fix but it’s worth a try!
Thanks
Dan
Hey Dan (@drally9955)
Can you provide a little more detail about what you did? Was it simply…
- Uninstalled Photoshop (via Creative Cloud)
- Reinstalled Photoshop (via Creative Cloud)
- Launched used Rosetta (via Creative Cloud)?
I specify the Creative Cloud bit to be sure you were doing this through the CC app instead of manually deleting Photoshop by trashing it in the Finder, or setting the “Open in Rosetta” checkbox in the Get Info window for the app and then launching it from the finder.
Did you happen to reboot at all during this process?
Did you uninstall/reinstall the CC app as well?
Thanks. This one is particularly frustrating so any help or info is helpful!

Hi,
Yes I deleted and reinstalled photoshop via the creative cloud with my plugin already installed. I had the “open with Rosetta” box checked when I deleted and it remained checked after the re installation but I opened the photoshop app using the creative cloud “open with Rosetta” button.
Also no reboot.
Sorry I can’t be of more help I just sort of stumbled across a solution as a last effort attempt.
Thanks
Spoke to Adobe.
They confirmed this is a known issue when working in Rosetta and they will be pushing out a fix in an upcoming update.
In the meantime, I was able to fix things without trashing the entire install:
- Quit Photoshop
- Open up the preferences folder
/Users/<username>/Library/Preferences/Adobe Photoshop 2025 Settings
(or whatever version you’re using)
- Delete the
PluginCache.psp
file
- Re-launch Photoshop in Rosetta
Hopefully this will help someone out there.
