How do I import an external web page link into an asset as a column and have it come in as a clickable link?

Hi,
According to the Shotgun Admin Guide; File/Link fields cannot be imported, and are greyed out (automatically ignored) by the importer.
I’d also love to import external links

We got around it by having the field which was a jira ticket number read in as text and then our jira <> shotgun bridge code look for that specific key.
Still feels a bit inelegant though
