I spent a good chunk of time doing an annotation session recently. And this was something that came up over and over. The scenario is that I’m reviewing media uploaded to a “Review” task. This is from a game build. We do this because this is the representation of the game with all departments checking in their work as opposed to local discipline work. These are often used for overall review where an AD will make multidisciplinary notes. So those notes need to be redirected to the appropriate discipline task (anim, lighting, envir art, fx, etc).
So here’s the issue. The first time I try to make a note, it just assumes that I only want the note on the current task (Review). This makes sense. If I press the checkbox task button, I’m teased that there are more task but I then have to click another “text button” to see them all. Why not just show me all the tasks if I hit the tasks button? (see image).
Once I click that text button called “Show Tasks”, then I can see the other tasks of the entity. At this point I can click the task I also want to attach the note to. (see image2)
The problem is that once I submit that note, the next note I make, I have to do all that over again. It’s bunch of mouse click that add up. I’d really like to tell the note to show me all the tasks every time when I’m doing this sort of reviewing.
Thanks!
Chris
