We released the following updates since 8.39:

Improvements

Fields - Input Validation

  • An empty state indicator now shows that validation rules for Project Entities cannot be modified when viewed in a non-Project context. [SG-26966]
  • Added validation rule information on a field’s REST schema and Python API call. [SG-27108]
  • Special characters can be added to alpha, alphanumeric, and number types, and are no longer an exclusive option. [SG-27089]
  • Added the ability to configure input validation rules as warning only (relaxed) rules. [SG-25904]

Screening Room

  • New ShotGrid/ShotGrid Review site preferences have been added to control how Play in RV and Play in Screening Room for RV get executed. [SG-26211]
    – Play in RV Starts Automatically
    – Play in RV always uses Look-Ahead Cache

Page Settings History

  • With the release of 8.40, Page Settings History is now available for local installs. To learn more about Page Settings History, visit our documentation here.

Bug fixes

Canvas Widget:

  • Fixed an issue when in some cases a thumbnail widget could not be editable. [SG-27307]

Fields:

  • Fixed an issue when using a calculated field based on a date in a saved filter and having column summary enabled would result in an error. [SG-27147]
  • Fixed an issue when using None for the background or text in formatting rules could result in non-readable text on the grid (especially when the dark scheme is on). [SG-24897]
  • Fixed an issue for text input validation where upper and lower case rules were not respected for alphanumeric validation rule segments. [SG-27582]

Filter Panel:

  • Fixed an error when creating a filter based on Linked fields → Notes. [SG-27515]
  • Fixed a regression when creating a saved filter based on a linked Notes and Open Notes would display an error. [SG-27232]
