Desktop 2.0 Breaks Everything

I didn’t see any notification that there was a breaking-change 2.0 Desktop release that forces Python 3.11 as default… is there any more information on this? And also can we force it to use another version of Python like 3.9 / 3.10? If not what are the links to v 1.9.2 etc?

Thanks!

Jesse

Thanks @jrapczak
Sorry to hear this new version is causing trouble for you.
This was announced with this post here
So it seems you’re having trouble with the default version of Python (3.11) that Desktop ships with.
In that same post, you’ll find the links for the earlier versions of Desktop (like 1.9.2) that come with Python 3.10.

Thanks for linking me.

FWIW I was unable to find that post because when I searched for “2.0” it did not come up. It seems that it does appear when searching for “v2.0”.

Meanwhile the “Looking for an older version…” link on the software Download page links to this post, which hasn’t been updated since Jan 2023.

Hopefully that can be updated!

Thank you for bringing this up! We were also looking for an older version(1.9.x) of FPTR desktop, as our client’s pipeline setup has broken on the latest desktop release. However, the link on their website only provides much older versions SG desktop not FPTR desktop series. Thank you!
