Is there currently the ability for color management and seeing local data (path to frames, path to movie) inside the “Creative Review” app?
RV has the ability to have a plugin for setting up custom color management. Currently, with lack of color management, we would be unable to use this new tool.
Enjoying the UI, and the ability to swap versions and browse though.
Thanks for the feedback. We’ve ingested this into our internal feedback systems. We’ll take a look and if we action this in the future, we’ll make sure to update you.
Yes, fair, different intentions then I suppose. But the feedback still stands, the only use case I can see for this would be for playblast style feedback/review, and not color review. Would just need to jump into RV for that.
Yes hence it would be great if the creative review system was ported to RV so we have similar featre set with the expanded abilities of RV (OCIO contexts, custom packages, EXR review)
Usually media uploaded to flow has color management (grading LUTs & whatnot) baked-in for display on sRGB screens (as sRGB is the standard for web browsing). If your display is not sRGB, then I see why color management could be an interesting feature. Although I wonder how helpful it could be, since upconverting sRGB to AdobeRGB, P3 or whatnot, won’t recover what has been lost in the sRGB color encoding. Color management would have to come with proper on-screen “warnings” to avoid misleading users.
