ADN Articles introduction to community

Hello there! We’re excited about connecting with you: pipeline engineers, technical directors (TDs), developers, technical artists like you, Flow Production Tracking technicians,… For those who still don’t know our ADN team, allow us to introduce ourselves..

Who are we?

We are the Autodesk Developer Network (ADN) team, and more specifically the team focusing on the Media & Entertainment (M&E) industry. For many years, our team has been committed to enhancing the development experience by providing valuable resources for the those in the community developing tools with Autodesk APIs, SDKs, Toolkits and cloud services. We are Developer Advocates, who are usually helping customers with troubleshooting and are usually testing many aspects of the technology in our ecosystem.

What we do?

Autodesk has many APIs, SDKs and tools … just take a look at our portal, https://aps.autodesk.com/developer/documentation to see a really long list of APIs and services. Use the filters to navigate through them. We have been delivering content, samples, tutorials and articles on many of those areas. Also giving support to many customers with Maya API, 3ds Max API, Motion Builder, FBX SDK, along with many other software products from the Manufacturing and Construction industry. In the https://aps.autodesk.com/blog you can see a sample of some of the articles we usually write related to Autodesk Platform Services on best practices, new features, and industry trends. We publish step-by-step guides to help you master Autodesk software, cloud APIs and ready-to-use examples that can be integrated into your projects.

We are also quite active in meetups, bootcamps and events. Take a look at https://aps.autodesk.com/community-events and decide if you want to join us. Our last event, Autodesk DevCon Europe in Amsterdam was a blast, and we plan to repeat next year!

What would we like to share in the forum?

Recently, our team (ADN) started taking a closer look at Flow Production Tracking (FPTR). First by learning and reviewing the documentation. At the same time, we have been testing, answering questions, and troubleshooting technical cases. And now we are ready to share some of our experiences with the community!

Note that we (ADN) are not supporting how to use the product itself, for that you have the user documentation, and you can get support in this community forum or from https://www.autodesk.com/support/contact-support, where our great colleagues from Customer Support can help further if needed. We mainly focus on how to program with FPTr APIs and the Toolkit. The main documentation is here:
https://help.autodesk.com/view/SGDEV/ENU/

Our intention is to share what we know, by writing forum entries or articles, in a blog style manner. It is part of our continuous effort to support API and Toolkit-related programming questions and contribute to this rich community. We will tag our articles with ‘adn-articles’ so they are easy to filter.

We plan to focus on API related topics, including:

  • Common Workflow Implementations, with instructions on how to utilize our APIs for your production needs.

  • Troubleshooting Guides with solutions to common technical challenges, to help you overcome obstacles efficiently.

  • Research Insights, updates and findings from our ongoing research that may benefit your projects and workflows.

We hope these resources become valuable to you. Stay tuned!

Warm Regards,

ADN Team, and
Sergio Leon, Principal Developer Advocate

NOTE: We will tag our articles with ‘adn-articles’ so they are easy to filter.
