IMPORTANT: RV 2026 is the last release to support Intel-based Macs.

This patch release of RV 2026.0.1 addresses a critical data-loss issue with package removal, along with several stability and crash fixes.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed rvpkg -remove <package_name> recursively deleting the current working directory’s parent folder when the package had already been manually removed. [SG-42147]
  • Fixed RV crashing when opening a QuickTime file from the command line, or via a Maya playblast handoff, while not authenticated. [SG-40456]
  • Fixed the Crashpad crash-reporting handler failing to initialize on launch on Rocky Linux 8, preventing crash dumps from being captured. [SG-44110]
  • Fixed excessive console errors caused by the -debug mu diagnostic flag being enabled by default. [SG-44255]
  • Fixed the playback transport controls shifting position when the media resolution readout is displayed in Layout/compare mode. [SG-43096]
  • Fixed the RV version-selection window in macOS’s RVLinkLauncher.app being unreachable off-screen when the rvlink URL was very long. [SG-43549]

OpenRV Community Contributions

  • Fixed an intermittent crash in rvio and RV batch/export operations caused by a media preloader thread race. [SG-43708] [OpenRV #1305]
  • Fixed saveSession(asACopy=true) overwriting the currently open session’s filename instead of only saving a copy. [SG-43710] [OpenRV #1303]

It looks like the URL links for the new patch release builds were working, but it took some time for the version title to be change from 2026.0.0 to 2026.0.1. It should be resolved now.
