Trying to access QtUiTools module to get around compiling ui and rc files for custom apps.
Any plans if this is planned to be implemented in the core?

Can access it with `from sgtk.platform.qt import QtUiTools`

cheers,
Tony

Hi @tonyd

It is a good idea. Do you mind to submit a [feature request](https://www.shotgunsoftware.com/roadmap/)?

Thanks

Sure will do…
But yesterday I found an older post asking the same thing (whoops… Duplicate) and Phillip Scadding raised some concerns about why this may have downside. He couldn’t remember the exact reason though.

Changed up the build\_resource.sh to run a small python script that invokes this command when compiling the ui files. This works fine for me at the moment. Still I think it’s strange that the PySide installation for windows comes with a compiled pyside-rcc binary but lacks the uic equivalent. ¯\_(ツ)\_/¯

Shall I still submit the feature request?

Yeah, feel free to submit it anyway. At the end of the day whilst we (Shotgun) may not use that component, it doesn’t mean others can’t.
