# PublishItem.thumbnail\_enabled = False doesn't seem to work

I’m trying to disable thumbnail screenshot in the publisher UI but using

`item.thumbnail_enabled = False`

for an item [doesn’t work as advertised](https://developer.shotgridsoftware.com/tk-multi-publish2/api.html#tk_multi_publish2.api.PublishItem.thumbnail_enabled). The thumbnail can still be set in the publisher UI. Am I missing something?
