# How to open a playlist in rv in not auto play mode from shotgun?

In rv preferences we have checkbox to turn off playback when we launch rv i.e ‘Play on Start up’ , I have found if we launch playlist in rv from shotgun it opens and start playiing instantly ignoring the rv preferences “Play on Startup”. Is this something rvlink\_protocol can manage ?
