Hi team! I have 2 videos, one is encoding with H264 and another is ProRes422, both of them are exported from Nuke and using the same jpg as source sequence. And their colors are same in Nuke. But when I play them in RV 7.2.3, I found their colors are not consistent. H264’s color is the same with source jpg sequence, but ProRes422’s color is more green. I have already set Color → No Conversion and View → No Correction. How can I fix it?
Both of them are .mov format. And the first one is encoding with ProRes 422. And the second one is H264. I try to use RV 2025.0.0 version, but I found it has the same problem.
what are your primaries set to on the prores?
And what is the output colorspace?
Primaries are BT.709 and output colorspace is RAW
Did you try with a more recent version of RV?
I openned a Ticket with Foundry months ago about Color Accuracy specifically for ProRes Encoding and it wasn’t fixed yet. But the issue was noticeable only for low resolution images (Below HD)
Yes, I tried to use 2025.0.0 version. But it has the same problem
Can you post your write node settings?
Using RV 2023 + Nuke 15.1v2, I’m not able to reproduce the issue on my side.
I made an animated ColorWheel, exported it as H264 & ProRes422.
Both medias are matching when viewing them in Nuke & RV. Only key difference is compression, but I’m not seeing a drastic change like in your screenshot.
I’m noticing your Write node has some Locked attribute with some error in it (Ex.: colorspace knob).
Have you tried from a completely fresh Write Node with no customization whatsoever?
Making the test from Fresh install of Nuke + RV without any customization would be beneficial as well.
Here is a small package of the 2 medias I exported. If you load them, are you seeing a drastic difference like in your example? I also inserted the Nuke Snippet that generated those medias in the README file
