## **We released the following updates since 8.87:**

### **Improvements:**

Select Record Count:

The grid and thumbnail view footer now shows how many records you have selected. When you select one or more records, a count appears in the footer next to the total record count, in the format **(X selected)**. The count updates as your selection changes, and disappears when no records are selected.

![Grid and thumbnail view showing the selected record count in the footer](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/shotgunsoftware/original/2X/3/3419d580251408952d2e3eb2bbf72a4451b16e75.png)

**Tip:**

- **Contiguous selection** : Click a record, then shift-click another record to select the entire range between them.
- **Non-contiguous selection** : Hold Command (macOS) or Ctrl (Windows) and click individual records to select them separately.

The selection count persists when you change the number of records displayed per page.

Pipeline Steps:

You can now filter tasks within a pipeline step on a Shots or Assets page. Instead of seeing all tasks in a step regardless of their status or other attributes, you can narrow the list to show only the work that’s relevant at that moment like tasks that are in progress, or tasks assigned to a specific artist.

## **How to use task filters**

To create a task filter for a pipeline step:

1. Right-click the pipeline step column header and select **Create Task Filter**.

2. In the **Create Task Filter** dialog that opens, give the filter a name and define your conditions.

3. Click **Create** to apply the filter.

When a filter is active, a filter icon and **filter applied** label appear in the pipeline step column header. Hover over the filter icon to see the active conditions and the number of visible versus total tasks.

Manage your task filter from the pipeline step right-click menu:

- **Update Task Filter** : Modify the existing filter conditions.
- : The filter name appears with a checkmark when active. Select it to toggle the filter on or off.
- **Apply Task Filter to all Steps** : Applies the same filter to every pipeline step on the page.

To delete a task filter, select **Update Task Filter** and then click **Delete** from the dialog.

**Tip:**

You can create only one filter for a pipeline step, but that filter can contain multiple conditions.

Summary rows recalculate to reflect only the tasks that are visible under the active filter. You can save the page with a task filter applied.

## **Documentation**

Calculated fields:

Calculated faileds can now use _nested linked fields_ to pull in data from an entity linked to your first linked field, letting you query your data one level deeper. [SG-43562]

For example, on a Task, you could already reach a linked Shot’s status with `{entity.Shot.sg_status_list}`. Now you can also reach that Shot’s linked Sequence’s status, with `{entity.Shot.sg_sequence.Sequence.sg_status_list}`.

![Calculated field configuration dialog showing nested linked field syntax with entity.Shot.sg_sequence.Sequence.sg_status_list and a warning about potential performance impact](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/shotgunsoftware/original/2X/8/879daf4f94a66b138dc27591a1f7a96a81561849.png)

Because nested linked fields add an extra lookup, a non-blocking warning appears in the field configuration dialogue to help you anticipate a possible impact on page load times as your data grows.[Analyze Page Performance](https://help.autodesk.com/view/SGSUB/ENU/?guid=SG_Administrator_ar_troubleshooting_sites_ar_analyze_page_performance_html)flags calculated fields that use a nested linked field, so you can spot them later if a page slows down.

In addition, available Linked Fields picker now shows nested, collapsible groups for linked fields.

Existing linked fields are unaffected by this change.

- Fixed an issue where selecting **Show Dependent Tasks** in the Gantt chart triggered an error in the browser console. [SG-43556]

Miscellaneous:

- Fixed an issue where selecting **Show Dependent Tasks** in the Gantt chart triggered an error in the browser console. [SG-43551]
- Fixed an issue where importing Bookings without an associated Project could cause the import process to freeze instead of reporting missing Project errors. [SG-41908]

Query Fields:

- Fixed an issue where query field conditions using **is not empty** on People fields were not preserved after saving, resulting in incorrect filtering. [SG-43814]
- Fixed an issue where query field conditions using **is empty** on entity and multi-entity fields were not preserved after saving, resulting in incorrect filtering. [SG-41376]

Review Notes APP:

- Fixed an issue where recipients could receive duplicate summary emails when the recipient list exceeded 50 addresses. [SG-43084]

## v8.88.0.9665 (build 4e4c71f968)

### **Improvements:**

### **Gantt interaction improvements**

We’ve improved the experience when working with the Gantt chart in Flow Production Tracking.

## **Resize a Task bar from its edge**

To change a Task’s duration, hover over the left or right edge of its Task bar and drag it. The pointer now changes to a resize pointer, replacing the three lines that used to appear beside the bar.

![Resize pointer on the right edge of a Task bar, with a tooltip showing the new date](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/shotgunsoftware/original/2X/b/b9caa2819a8bcf3c204458a6501105e9b4bf426b.png)

## **Split Tasks use the same Gantt interactions**

On the Gantt, there are no longer separate editing modes for split Tasks. You don’t need to double-click a Task bar to work with its segments.

To move the whole Task, drag its first segment. To move one segment on its own, drag that segment.

![Split Task bar, with its two segments joined by a dotted line](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/shotgunsoftware/original/2X/a/a1250d98f267a83f43c5e9e2608cee8430c133bc.png)

## **Link Tasks by dragging**

When you hover over a Task bar, a dot appears at each end. Drag from a dot to another Task to create a dependency. A dashed line follows the pointer while you drag, so you can see the link before you make it. Drawing a dependency no longer needs the Alt or Option key, and you can still link Tasks from the right-click menu.

![Dots at each end of a Task bar, with a dashed line following the pointer toward another Task](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/shotgunsoftware/original/2X/4/4b6f8fae58e568297942b4ef1319f5b1089896bd.png)

### Clearer dependencies you can’t open

If a Task is linked to a Task you’re not allowed to see because of your permissions, then the Gantt shows a lock instead of a dependency arrow. Hover over the lock to see why the Task details aren’t shown.

| | |
| --- | --- |
| ![Two Task bars, each with a lock icon to the right in place of a dependency arrow](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/shotgunsoftware/original/2X/f/f4cb21beddfe3f3291565b94529a790177cf56e0.png) | Two Tasks depend on a Task you can’t view. A Lock stands in for each dependency arrow. |
| ![The same two Task bars, with dependency arrows leading to a third Task bar](https://global.discourse-cdn.com/shotgunsoftware/original/2X/0/0559d2f4fa2614be45ea2574d19f788f0dcfe171.png) | The same schedule seen with permission to view every Task. The arrows lead to the Task the locks stood in for. |

## **See when the Gantt is still working**

When you move, resize, or link Tasks, the Task bars being updated are shown with a striped pattern and are locked until the update finishes. Only those Task bars are locked. You can keep editing other Tasks in the meantime, and start another update while the first one runs. A message at the top of the page tells you the update is in progress, and is replaced by a confirmation listing the fields that changed. If the update can’t be applied, the Task bars return to their original dates and you’re given the option to try again.

This means a large schedule no longer shows partly-updated dates while Flow Production Tracking recalculates a dependency chain.

## **New time controls**

The controls above the Gantt now include **Today** , zoom in and zoom out buttons, and a timescale menu.

Select **Today** to bring the Gantt back to today’s date, or open the menu to set a period ahead: under **Show from today** , choose **Next 7 days** , **Next 2 weeks** , **Next month** , **Next 3 months** , or **Next 6 months**.

In the timescale menu, under **View by** , choose **Week** , **Month & Day** , **Month & Week** , **Quarter** , or **Year**.

## **A refreshed look**

Task bars, group bars, and dependency arrows have a rounded, modernized design. Row lines in the Task List View and the Gantt now stay aligned with each other, so a row is easier to follow across both panes.

When you select a Task, the Gantt no longer draws a border around its Task bar. The row stays highlighted instead, so the ends of the bar keep showing exactly where the Start Date and Due Date fall.

- Fixed an issue where creating Attachments via the API could fail after permanently deleting a custom Attachment field. [SG-44539]
- Fixed an issue where deselecting a nested group of records on the grid could leave its records selected for bulk actions. [SG-44475]
- Fixed an issue where the project menu bar could disappear on projects displaying the Demo Project banner. [SG-43865]
- Fixed an issue on Note detail pages where reply dates were displayed in relative format even when the date display option was set to Absolute. [SG-43390]
- Fixed an issue on Canvas pages where displaying the linked **Project \> Layout Template \> Landing Page URL** field could prevent other widgets from loading and page design changes from being saved. [SG-38992]
- Fixed an issue where tags already added to an entity could be selected again, resulting in an “Update failed” error. [SG-22541]
